I had never been to "the backyard" before. The Leo Project put on a good show, getting the crowd amped up for the evenings headliner. Big Thief came out in their usual fashion, direct and to the point. With the exception of the staff being rude, it was a pretty good night. Even the few moments of rain that ended as quick as it came, the staff being rude it was a pretty good night. They played for a well receiving crowd who was ready for anything that came at them. I've never missed Big Thief anytime they came to Kansas City, and each time I never left disappointed. These guys know how to do their job, and they love it!
